Health, Safety, Environmental Policy
1- Safety helmets to be worn by all personnel on site, this includes all subcontractor labor and consultant’s representative.
2- Footwear to have an adequate hard sole so as to provide sufficient protection.
3- Edge protection to all slabs by the erection of safety barrier. When safety
barrier are not feasible personal must wear a safety haness at all time.
4- Electricicity supplied throughout the site is connected to an EMU through
the circuit breakers in the main distribution board and comply with Ajman
electricity company regulation.
5- Hoardings: The site will be surrounded by a suitable hoarding so as to
restrict the entry of any unauthorized personal. The entry and exit gates
will be closed and padlocked during non-working hours.
6- Edge protection around excavations will be given by SBC as deemed to be
sufficient by the project manager.
7- Protection of buildings and public outside the building area will be given by
8- SBC as deemed necessary and will comply with any municipality regulations.
SBC will provide full time personnel on site suitably trained in elementary
first aid.
9- A first aid box will be present at all times on site containing the following
-Panadol
-Tincture Benzoin
-Burnol
-Cut Band
-Lotion Dettol
-Deep Heat
-Riko cut spray
-Salt tablets
-Scissors
-Vicks Vapourub
10- Regular checks of the site are made by the company safety officer with
penalties being imposed if the company policies are not being adh ered to.
11- Subcontractors will be responsible for the purchase of safety equipment
required by their personnel as instructed by the main contractor’s site
manager and will incur any associated costs regarding safty during their
working practice on site.
12- No Safety protection can be removed without the consent of the site
manager and if so removed the person will be liable for the safety of other
site personnel and his company will be responsible for all cost incurred
deriving from any injury or damage to personnel, plant or material on site.
13- It is the responsibilty of each and every employee on site to carry out
an operation in a safe manner and will not carry out an activity which
may endanger the safety of any other personnel on site.
14- The main contractor will not be liable for costs incurred due to injury
of any personnel not directly sponsored by them.
15- All Personnel not sponsored by the main contractor will be presumed
to be covered by their companies own insurance policies whilst working
on SBC sites.
16- All plant and electrical tools must be kept in a safe working condition
with regular inspection and maintenance by a competent person with log
book recordings where necessary.
17- These regulations are to be read in conjunction with the regulations
set by the United Arab Emirates ministry of labor social affairs, ministeral
order no. (32), and any updated orders that comply.
18- It is the company’s policy that the site manager in charge of all personnel
on site is fully responsible at all times for the safety.
19- The signatures of these regulations are an acceptance to the rules set
out by SBC group and violation will be deemed to be the responsibility
of the concerned party.
S. B. C. group, takes utmost care to safeguard all workforce as well as general public from any form of loss by consistently training its employees to exercise caution and to devise and install appropriat preventive measures.
-The management ensures that all safety procedures deployed comply with the rules and regulat ions of the Dubai municipality and other statutory bodies, as applicable.
